The African Economic Research Consortium (AERC) offers a paid Internship Programme aimed at developing and preparing recent postgraduates for employment opportunities in research, policy-making, and capacity-building institutions. This programme provides participants with valuable workplace experience, knowledge expansion, career goal refinement, and professional networking opportunities. 

Eligibility Requirements:

Educational Background: Candidates should hold a Master's degree in disciplines such as Economics, Statistics, Agricultural Economics, Development Studies, Mathematics, Gender Studies, Governance and Knowledge Management, Accounting and Finance Administration, Procurement, HR Management, ICT, or Communication & External Relations. 

Age: Applicants must be 30 years old or younger at the time of application submission.

Application Timing: Applications should be submitted within one year of obtaining the Master's degree.

Work Authorization: Candidates must be Kenyan citizens or possess legal documentation permitting employment in Kenya.

Language Proficiency: Effective communication skills in English are required; proficiency in another language, such as French, is advantageous.

Encouragement for Female Candidates: Female applicants are encouraged to apply.

Programme Details:

Duration: The internship lasts between 3 to 6 months.

Location: Internships are based at AERC's headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya, and may be conducted remotely or on-site, depending on departmental needs.

Stipend: Eligible interns receive a monthly stipend.

Responsibilities: Interns are responsible for their travel to and from the office (for on-site internships) and must arrange their own medical insurance coverage during the internship period.
