Hyundai Motor Group, in partnership with SOAS University of London, has launched the Hyundai Motor Group Scholarships for the 2025/2026 academic year. These scholarships aim to support outstanding African students in pursuing master's or PhD studies at SOAS, fostering expertise in sustainable development and leadership across the continent. 

Scholarship Details:

Number of Scholarships: Five scholarships are available—four for master's students and one for a PhD student.

Eligible Fields: Applicants are particularly encouraged to apply for courses within the College of Development Studies, Economics and Finance, and the College of Law, Anthropology, and Politics. 

Scholarship Benefits:

Master's Award: £27,730, covering full tuition fees, with any remaining funds provided as a stipend.

PhD Award: Covers tuition fees for three years plus a writing-up year, along with an annual stipend of £22,780.

Additional Opportunities: Scholars will be invited to participate in various networking events and seminars hosted by Hyundai Motor Group during and after their studies. Additionally, a Junior Internship Program for master's students from Africa will be launched at SOAS, offering valuable global business experience. 

Eligibility Criteria:

Nationality: Open to African nationals who are ordinarily resident in Africa.

Academic Requirements:

Master's Applicants: Should possess or expect to be awarded an international equivalent to a first-class honors degree from a UK university. Applicants with a 2:1 may also apply but will not be given preference.

PhD Applicants: Should possess or expect to be awarded an international equivalent to a master's degree with distinction from a UK university. Applicants with a merit may also apply but will not be given preference.

Admission Status: Applicants must have applied to SOAS but are not required to have received an offer of admission by the scholarship deadline. An unconditional offer will need to have been received by the time the selection panel meets to discuss scholarship applications.

English Language Requirement: Applicants must meet the English language condition of their offer of admission to study at SOAS, if applicable.

1. Apply for Admission at SOAS: Submit a complete application for a relevant master's or PhD program. Admission applications may take 4-6 weeks to process, so apply early.

2. Submit Scholarship Application: Apply online via the scholarship portal by 12:00 pm UK local time on 25 April 2025. Ensure all required documents are included, as incomplete applications will not be considered.
