Grant Update: Giving Joy Grant Application Portal is Now open, Check out on how to Apply and Application processes.
Giving Joy receives thousands and thousands of applications each grant round. Due to limited funding, we are only able to award between five (5) and ten (10) grants.
Before applying, please read the Key Dates and review the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) below to understand how we evaluate applications. We prioritize innovative, creative ideas with strong potential for social impact.
Attention all women entrepreneurs in Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa—this is your moment! The next round of Giving Joy grants is here, and we’re ready to support your amazing business ideas.
Why Are We Doing Regional Grant Rounds?
Well, we love ambition, but evaluating 8,000+ applications per round is a bit like trying to drink from a firehose. To keep things fair (and to preserve our sanity), we decided to organize applications by region:
January 2025: North & South America (including Latin America & the Caribbean) - CLOSED
April 2025: Europe, the Middle East & North Africa (that’s you!) - NOW OPEN
July 2025: Asia and the Pacific
October 2025: Africa
For details, check the schedule HERE .
Key Details for This Round
Application Window: April 1–31, 2025
Who Can Apply? Women entrepreneurs from eligible countries in Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa (see full list below and on our website)
Important: If you apply after April 31, or propose activities in a country that is not on the list below, we won’t review your application. (Save yourself the effort—we’d rather you spend that time growing your business!)

Once you submit your online application, Giving Joy reviews the applications for compliance. A representative from Giving Joy may reach out to you for additional information and/or to clarify your answers. We may also ask for photos of you and your business/organization.
Giving Joy staff then evaluate applications based on the following criteria:
o Proposed grant activities align with the Giving Joy activities
o Innovative use of grant funding to achieve activities
o Demonstrated grant impact to the applicant, her family, and community (multiplied impact)
Based on these scoring criteria Giving Joy will shortlist between 10 applications per grant round.
Due to the volume of applications we receive, we can only inform those who are shortlisted.
If you DO NOT hear from Giving Joy, your application is deemed unsuccessful. We apologize in advance.
None of This Would Be Possible Without YOU!
Our grants exist because of the generosity of our supporters. Without YOU, we wouldn’t have the means to fund these incredible women-led businesses that uplift families and transform communities. Every donation fuels opportunity, hope, and change.
What is important to emphasize in the grant application?
Make sure you fill out ALL fields of the online application form. An incomplete application will not be considered.
Your proposed grant activities MUST have a social benefit to your community and MUST go beyond financial aspects of your business. The more social impact you can illustrate through your idea—the better and the greater your chances of winning the grant.
We will NOT support activities related to the purchase of merchandise, stock, advertisements, or marketing for personal use.
Be as specific as possible, particularly regarding how you will use the grant funds. For example, if you plan on using the grant for a community event, a training, scholarships, etc. please include a detailed list of the activity you will develop including estimated costs, what the event will include, who is the target audience, and how the event will impact women, girls, and families.
Include, as much as possible, qualitative information related to the grant impact (ex. training for 10 women, each women will train an additional 10 women, ultimately impacting 20 families and 50 children in the community).
